What is a Remote Pilot Certificate?
A Remote Pilot Certificate is an official document issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) through the Digital Sky Platform. It certifies that the holder has successfully completed an approved training program and passed the required theory and practical assessments.
The RPC is issued in two categories:
- Small Category RPC: Allows operation of small drones above 250 grams and up to 2 kg.
- Medium Category RPC: Allows operation of medium drones weighing up to 50 kg (requires a valid Small RPC as a prerequisite).
The RPC is a career-defining credential. It is recognised by employers, government bodies, and organisations across India and is mandatory for anyone wishing to fly commercially.
